Sean specializes in corporate growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, taxation and forensic accounting. His business experience has been focused exclusively in either of these areas since 1996. Standout performance in problem-solving and crisis management with leadership and team motivation to achieve set goals. The breadth of business experience coupled with professional qualifications and continuous professional development enables Sean to excel in challenges faced in every engagement.

Bio

Sean’s previous work experience at the Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”) included forensic accounting as part of the civil and criminal special investigations group. After completing the in-depth tax course, he joined the tax avoidance group working on cross-border and international transactions for domestic and foreign firms. After obtaining his Chartered Business Valuator designation, he was part of the Toronto Valuations Group working closely with the Aggressive Tax division on sophisticated transactions and tax shelters. He has participated in and led arbitrations and mediations at the CRA.


The breadth of Sean’s industry experience ranges from owner-manager companies to large multinationals in the high-tech, construction, auto manufacturing, software development, pharmaceuticals, food processing, clean energy and other industries. His corporate finance and mergers and acquisition experience have ranged from small owner managed companies to public company divestitures.


Sean has been published in numerous legal and accounting periodicals including Business Valuation Digest, the Lawyer’s Weekly and CA Magazine. He has recently released his first book on corporate valuation and marketability. He has presented at various conferences on panels and as a speaker. He has taught undergraduate accounting and tax at York University in Toronto and has been a guest lecturer at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.
